Abstract

Specimens of the two species of “ventrally sclerotized” Lepidophthalmus currently known from the eastern tropical pacific were collected at El Salvador and Mexico. These specimens represent additional records and support the idea that L. bocourti and L. eiseni should be considered as separated species.
