First record, Ceratium dens, Gulf of CaliforniaAbstract
The dinoflagellate Ceratium dens, originally described from the Indian Ocean, recorded for the first time in the Gulf of California and in the Mexican Pacific. were examined all available records of C. dens. The geographic distribution of this species is mainly in tropical and subtropical waters. The presence of C. dens during the autumn year 2009 in the waters of the Gulf of California appears to relate to El Niño Event conditions.
